Dr. Debabrata Sikdar is a young academic researcher with interests focused mainly on the emerging research areas of plasmonics and metamaterials. He specializes in developing theory, modelling and simulation of novel nano-optical devices and nanoplasmonic systems. He also actively collaborates with many experimental groups from India and abroad (Universities in UK, Australia, China, and Russia). He has pioneered many novel techniques in theory, modelling and simulation of light interaction with guided and scattering media, proposed new tuneable metadevices, and published over 70 research articles, four patent and one book chapter. He is currently the Principal Investigator of the Sikdar nanoplasmonics and Metamaterial Research Group (SNMG) based at the Department of EEE, IIT Guwahati.
